High Volume Projects

Large sequencing projects
made simple

MicrobesNG has a dedicated team of scientists to support you with large projects. We work with you to design effective project plans that help you meet your deadlines and we take care of the project management, freeing you up to concentrate on your work.

We have lots of experience supporting multi-collaborator projects and have bespoke systems to assist consortiums with both sample submission and secure data access. You can read more about how we supported the Enterics for Global Health (EFGH) network with their Shigella surveillance study here.

Our Workflow

To manage projects effectively, we use a five stage process. Our workflow begins with Customer Onboarding where we work with you to agree project requirements and timelines and specific data requirements. This is followed by Batch Plan design, where we translate all this information into a concise batch plan. Sample collection and shipment is then scheduled and the samples are sequenced. The final step is bioinformatics and the data is delivered via our project portal, which can be accessed by all project collaborators.

Benefits for Customers

By choosing MicrobesNG for your high volume project, we can take the headache out of project management and scheduling. Our collaborative team will help you design a batch plan that aligns with your grant requirements or company projects. Our project portal also provides easy access to projects for all collaborators, where they can access data in a single place, saving you time for project meetings. Finally our volume-based discounts mean that you get access to the best data at fair and competitive rates.

What do our customers think?

Making our customers' lives easier is a key part of who we are at MicrobesNG. But don't just take our word for it — hear what Dr Gavin Ackers-Johnson of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine has to say after working with us on a bespoke metagenomic sequencing project.

Dr. Helen McNeil

About me: I have a PhD from the University of Birmingham, where I researched the diversity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains in the Midlands. I then went on to study antibiotic resistance in Salmonella, which is where I first started analysing sequencing data. I used MicrobesNG as a customer before joining the team in June 2022.

How I can help you: As the Key Accounts Manager for MicrobesNG I want to understand the aims of your project. This helps me to identify the services that best support your research and fit your budget. Learning about your project aims also helps us with future service developments. I particularly enjoy supporting large projects, involving multiple collaborators across different labs. My aim is to make everything from initial planning through to data delivery run as smoothly as possible by keeping communication clear and timelines on track.
